simsit.tools.generate_orbit(height, coord, heading, vperp, vpar, observer, t0)

Construct an orbit from line-of-sight geometry and assumed velocity components.

Parameters

heightfloat: Height above Earth’s surface in meters.
coordgalsim.CelestialCoord: Line of sight from observer to object.
headinggalsim.Angle: Velocity position angle, measured from north through east.
vperpfloat: Velocity component perpendicular to the radius vector, in m/s.
vparfloat: Velocity component parallel to the radius vector, in m/s.
observerssapy.EarthObserver: Observer location.
t0astropy.time.Time: Reference time.
